Brand, Print and Multi-Platform Menu Project
Naan Palace is an Indian restaurant located in Vancouver that provides a modern experience with the cuisine. The name is a combination of a popular Indian food called naan and the word ‘palace’ that is locally referred in India as a grand place where everyone can come in, eat and enjoy. It is also closely related to castles, temples, showing off the restaurant’s atmosphere through the name.
Constraints/Pieces: Brand and menu update to target high end customer base of the fictional restaurant. They desire to have an overall opulent feel conveyed in the menu to customers. Project will include a tri-fold brochure and a digital iPad menu.
Programs: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
The logo consists of a shape that resembles the top part of a palace or temple. A very known symbol of the country. The middle is cut out with the same shape to add depth and make it look like a ‘fire’ symbol that is commonly seen throughout the many festivals of India. The colors dark grey and saffron are chosen to give off a modern feel. Saffron is also a commonly used spice and it is one of the colors in the Indian flag.
Due to the dimly lit restaurant, the design takes that into account. The light design on the print menu provides better clarity while the dark design on the iPad keeps the screen from shining too bright.
